9 Months

I can't believe my sweet baby girl is 9 months old. Only 3 months until she is 1 year!

We went to her check up yesterday, here are her stats:

Birth:
Weight: 6lbs 11 oz

Height: 18 inches

9 months:
Weight: 15lbz 10oz - 10th percentile

Height: 25.8 inches - 5-10th percentile

She is finally working on a tooth. She hasn't officially starting crawling, but she does move. She can transition from sitting to her belly and vice versa. She says mama alot, but not much more. She's eating 3 meals a day and I am proud to say I make all of her baby food. We are starting to introduce lumpier foods and she loves those little puff finger foods from Gerber.

And best of all - she is still getting 100% breastmilk. This is the longest I've ever made it breastfeeding and I'm very proud of myself! The only formula she has ever had was less than 1 oz in the hospital after they suctioned out her stomach.

And here is my pretty princess (this picture is from last month, but I love it)

It's been awhile!

I've been really slacking with this blog!

Things that have happened since my last post:

  • Eric graduated Kindergarten! He had a great year and excelled academically more than I could have imagined! I'm so proud of my big guy.
  • Isaac finished up his first year of preschool. He also greatly improved throughout the year and is all registered for Pre-K.
  • Ella is almost 9 months old. She is lacking the teeth, but is still my happy little camper. We started her on solids at 6 months and I am making all of her baby food. She still isn't crawling either, but I'm ok with that. She probably will be in a week or two.
  • I finally finished my crappy A&P II class. Right now I'm in General Biology and then I will take MicroBiology in the fall. As far as I know I am an alternate for admission for Spring 2010 semester.
  • Best of all! I tested out of the algebra class I needed. It was a lot of work, but I'm so glad I did.
I think that's it! I'm going to try to be more active on here! :)

Working mom and sick kids

Being a working mom is hard. It feels like you are trying to please too many people at one time. But in my world, my children, my family will ALWAYS come first.

I'm in a hard situation at work. I'm working under this man for the third time in my career here at IBM. (And I use career lightly.) He is all about IBM. He thinks IBM should come before everything. Got a sick child? They can stay home by themselves or you should call a family member to take care of them. Ummm no, that doesn't work. For one, my kids aren't old enough to stay home by themselves. And why would I call in a family member? My children are my responsibility!

So here I am again. At work, while my child is sick. He was running 102+ fever all day yesterday with a lovely sounding cough. As of 4am this morning he wasn't burning up and said he was feeling better. (I accidentally woke him up feeling his forehead.) Do I think I will be at work all day? Not likely...

Whatever

Why is it I keep getting stuck under the same manager. I think this is my 3rd time working for him and each time he has made my work life totally blow.

Things were hunky dory before I had Ella. I actually liked my job. Yes, I hated getting up at 4am, but who wouldn't. There were plenty of times I wanted to be home with my babies rather then work, but all in all, things were going a-ok. Then 4 days before I had her, I was given the most dreadful news ever. That this man would once again be my manager. NOOOOOO!!!!!!

I've worked for this company almost 10 years now, and once again I am getting the shit work, while others sit on their arses and don't do a damn thing all day long. This "other" has been here a little over a year. Why does this happen to me? BECAUSE I AM A FEMALE!

I keep trying to remind myself that there is an light at the end of my tunnel. I have 3 more years before I can test to be a RN. 3 years, that isn't very long, right?

I don't think I can work here for that much longer. Especially under this man. GRRRRRR!

Christmas Time

I absolutely love this time of year. The only thing I could do without is the cold weather.

Things I Love About Christmas Time:

  • The music! I've always been a music person, I played 5 different instruments through middle and high school. I really should get my flute out and play a little.
  • Lights! I love to drive by houses that are all decked out for the holidays. I'm hoping next year we will be one of those houses. I plan on hitting the stores after Christmas to get some killer deals on lights and Christmas decorations.
  • Family! It's so much fun getting together with all the extended family (well those who live close by).
  • Eric's Birthday! I really didn't know what to expect with having his birthday 3 days before Christmas, but every year it's been fun. My parents and grandparents are always here for his birthday. We throw a little shin dig and have a good time. Eric doesn't mind his birthday being close to Christmas either. I think he thinks he is extra special! My baby is going to be 6!

I've got to run! Ms Ella is crying. Until next time!
